I greatly enjoyed this Slate article, which reminds us why air conditioners are so annoying. It makes Arnold's bit about running the central cooling and the fireplace simultaneously even cuter.
Sad but true. When I was an electrician in Hawaii, that was the number one thing we got calls for: breakers tripping because someone brought home a new AC. I was once on an estimate call where a lady wanted about 4kW of solar power put up on her roof (~$40,000) because they were going to put a window unit in every room.
Five bloggers unite to discuss things of a political nature. Five will enter, one will leave. The others will mill around for a while. Then they will also leave.
They may decide to call a cab if they think it's worth the money.
